Key responsibilities:
We are looking to scale and grow our Zabbix monitoring environment and infrastructure. It’s important for us to be able to plan and architect Zabbix hardware, software, configuration, and design in order to be prepared for the immense growth of hosts and services to monitor in our roadmap.
Focus will be on reviewing our current Zabbix implementation, understanding business needs on the road map and leading us to a scalable design that will insure a fast performing monitoring system.
Success will be measured on the ability to minimize detection of events time to the time of delivery of events to our operations teams and automated remediation of scripts and tools.
Work with Operations, Engineering, Development teams for collaborative success.
As a key member of the Operations team you will play a daily role in finding new ways to assist in automation of manual testing tasks including telephony, fax, mobile and web services.
Ideal candidate will have:
A desire and passion for working with new products and ideas to create proof of concept configuration and solutions;
An assertive attitude to take initiative in seeking out solutions for problems to optimize performance and automation;
Analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving that is strong in isolation triage and correlation;

Understanding of business requirements capture and prioritization;
Ability to explore solutions to problems with consideration of full sense of ownership;
Ability to interact with cross functional teams including Network, Engineering, Development, Marketing Support, NOC at technical and business process levels;
Proficiency at English reading and writing;
Excellent documentation and visual communication skills;
A self-motivated 'Hacker' attitude of solving problems, creating proof of concepts, to enjoy collaborative problem solving.
Ideal candidate will have skills and working experience with:
Network monitoring in a high-load environment; Zabbix required;
Zabbix 2.0 and above and Zabbix with 2500+ hosts monitored;
Zabbix HA with distributed proxies of 20 and Zabbix with MySQL and replication;
SNMP, IPMI;
MySQL – administration and tuning, schema and queries;
Oracle – administration and tuning, schema and queries;
(*nix) Linux - RedHat, CentOS administration experience;
Windows 2003 server and up;
Web servers (Apache, IIS, nginx, etc.); Web programming is a plus;
Scripting - bash, php, perl, awk, sed, Java, J2ee, HTML, CSS, xml, XSLT, CSS, JavaScript; PHP,JSON/SOAP, C/C++ programming is a plus;
Network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, SIP);
SVN- check in, check out, export, merge;
Deep log diving and interpretation - grep, ngrep, etc.;
SIP protocols related to voice and OpenSer Kamailio.
