Platform Development Manager (from $3000)
Development Manager should provide technical, managerial leadership for leading a development in conjunction with the US team. Primary responsibilities includes put together the development plan, Manage the development team, Delivery management, give technical direction to the team, hands on if required, expand the team, train the team on the product, do the patch releases, intermediate releases, taking care of escalated issues and deliver the product on schedule.
• Hands-on development manager who will be responsible for product development.
• Establish, institute, and follow an SDLC (Software Development Life-Cycle) including migrating current products into the formal SDLC.
• Develop, maintain and, as needed, write technical documentation for the SDLC including, but not limited to, requirements specifications, functional specifications, design specifications, architectural diagrams, data models, user guides, etc.
• Establish and monitor product milestones and deliver product on schedule.
• Develop and maintain the complex application platform in .NET
• Ability to handle escalated issues and support issues in the timely manner
• Modernize software development processes, product testing policies and procedures, and work with legacy customers to maintain their systems.
• Hands-on development of Microsoft .NET, C#, Databases such as SQL server, Oracle, Sybase and Access
• The Development Manager must perform hands-on development if needed.
• Work with offshore company to migrate knowledge and product development to headquarters.
Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in developing client server applications using Microsoft .Net, C#, ASP .NET, Visual C++.
• Expertise in relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle
• 10+ years of development experience
• Experience in C, C++, Visual C++ is a must
• Successful completion of at least two major product development cycles, for the client server & Web product, from design to commercial product release.
• Superior oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent teamwork and time-management skills.
• Drive to provide results quickly in order to meet aggressive business objectives.
• Must be able to gain the respect of developers through leading by example and demonstrating expertise based on real world knowledge and industrial experience.
• Prior experience of working with offshore development teams is a must.
• Localization Experience is a must
• Working experience in US is most desirable
Education and Experience:
B.S., M.S., in Computer Science and Engineering preferably in US universities
10 + years of development experience
5+ years of Development management experience
